Protect your Tenancy Deposit !!!

Ask your landlord if your deposit is protected

Your landlord has 30 days from receiving your deposit to tell you in writing which scheme has been used to protect your deposit.
If you have not heard from your landlord in this time, you can write to your landlord and ask for this information.
 Organise your papers and evidence
Before you go any further, it's a good idea to make sure you have all you paperwork organised. Gather together:
·         your tenancy agreement and evidence of rent paid
·         evidence of the payment of your tenancy deposit
·         copies of any letters to and from your landlord
·         evidence that the deposit has not been protected by your landlord.
·         your inventory and anything else that may be relevant.

This will help you if you need to take further action.
